Valencia
Capital of the Valencia province on the river Turia, in the richest agricultural area of Spain. In size of population it is after Madrid and Barcelona. It is a charming city, light, carefree and confident, where everyone has some claim to an artistic temperament. It is sufficient to see the admirable and amazing cardboard figures which are burnt in the streets on St. Joseph's Day, the " fallas", (read more) to realise that if the population uses such masterpieces as a bonfire, it is because they can produce them with ease just for pleasure. With an ancient culture as its heritage, the Valencian is imaginative and creative. Perhaps the best tourism site in Spain if not Europe and one of the best group of buildings in the world is the " City of Arts and Science". Because the river flooded the city every year it's course was diverted and on the old river bed the Valencians have created an amazing group of buildings
