The Nagapoosani Temple (Nainatheevu is a must visit religious site while holidaying in Jaffna. This ancient temple is the abode of a sacred 5 headed cobra. The Nagapoosani Temple (Nainatheevu) in Jaffna was built to primarily worship the Serpent God revered by most Hindus.
The Jaffna library is a public library and a storehouse of several rare books on every subject under the Sun. The Jaffna Library suffered due to arson when it was set on fire by a Singhalese crowd in the year 1981. This was due to the ethnic tensions in the country of Sri Lanka. This library was refurbished in the year 2003 by the government.
